EL CASAR DE TALAVERA, situated on the North-West side of the Toledo province, near the junction between the N-502 Avila-Cordoba road and the Autovía de Extremadura. Being and independent council until 1845, the Town Councils Act by Isabel II makes them belong to Talavera. The present Leisure Centre was the Town Hall, prison, deposit and school.
Relevant monuments are: -Parish Church dating from XVIc. -La Atalaya del Casar built by the moorish around 925. -Ermita de San Roque, in ruins.
Festivities: -Corpus Christi, when extremely beautiful altars are aplced along the way of the procession. -Patron festivities, on the weekend before the last og August with dancing, vaquillas, procession... Of special interest is the visit to the ceramics factory "Cerámica Artística Mayoral". The outdoor tourist can spend a delicious day eating at one of its three restaurants or visiting the Talavera livestock market on a wednesday. Also essential is the ocassion to taste of the cheese and ham local production.
