The Contemporary Art Museum is located, since 1975, at the beautiful Casa de las Cadenas, one of the most renowned locations in the Jew quarter, close to the Iglesia de Santo Tomé. The building dates back to the XVI c., and represents a prototype of the typical Toledo dwelling. The building houses a central patio with wooden arcades, 4 on the first floor and two on the second, a side staircase, halls with wooden ceilings and doors and windows framed by plaster casts. The different halls exhibit a series of art works from XX c. from the colourful landscapes by Beruete and Arredondo, to the modern paintings by Benjamín Palencia and Antonio López. It is worth mentioning the halls dedicated to the Toledo artist Alberto Sánchez, exhibiting eleven drawings and nine esculptures.
