The Greco's House Museum is located in the heart of the Jews Quarter. The house belonged originally to Samuel Leví, treasurer of King Pedro I of Castilla, and Marqués de Villena. El Greco lived in the house for some time but in the beginning of the XX century the remains of the building were pulled down. The museum was inaugurated in 1911 on the initiative of the Marqués de la Vega-Inclán, who recovered the land to house the works of the painter, dispersed around Toledo. This artistic space houses an important collection of works by the Cretan painter, among which you will find Apostolado, San Bernardino, Vista y Plano de Toledo and El Redentor. There are also paintings from other artists from centuries XVI and XVII in exhibition at this Museum. Opening times: Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-2pm and 4-9pm. Sundays and public holidays, 10am-2pm.
