Monasterio de San Juan de los Reyes was erected by the Reyes Católicos to commemorate the Battle of Toro (1476). The general design of the building is by Juan Guas, being one of the best examples of the Spanish Gothic-Flemish Art Movement. The church has an only nave and side chapels, standing out the abundant decoration at the transept and the Major Chapel. The decoration of the latter includes archs and crests of the Reyes Católicos sustained by eagles. The choir is situated along the foot of the nave. The transept is covered by an octogonal over profusely decorated structures. It is worth mentioning the cloister displaying abundant carved decoration with fantastic animals and floral designs.
