At the Museo Parroquia Santo Tomé you can visit one of the most important paintings by El Greco, El Entierro del Conde de Orgaz. Commisioned in 1586 by the Parish priest Andrés Núñez from Madrid, to be placed at the funerary chapel for the noble benefactor Don Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, Conde de Orgaz, dead in 1323. The church is already mentioned on the XII century, but was rebuilt in the beginning of the XIV c. commisioned by Señor de Orgaz. The spectacular mudejar towers, considered soe of the best examples of Toledo mudejar art works, belong to this period. At the inside of the church you will find an altarpiece from XVI c., plateresque, and another baroque one, a marble baptism font from the XVI c., an extremely beautfil ststue of a virgin in marble from the XIII c., and an interesting paintin by a disciple of El Greco, Tristán Opening Times: 10 to 18.45 Address: Plaza del Conde, s/n.
